Lee Tomkins is a Dublin-born singer-songwriter celebrated for his compelling stage presence and versatile vocal talent. With deep roots in Dublin’s vibrant music scene, Tomkins brings passion, experience, and authenticity to every performance.

Early Musical Journey and DC Tempest

Lee Tomkins began his musical journey at just 10 years old when he picked up his first guitar. By age 15, he had already stepped onto the stage for his first live gig, setting the foundation for a lifelong love affair with music.

Tomkins further honed his craft playing guitar, keyboards, and providing vocals across various bands, traveling internationally to share his passion for music. Notably, he served as the lead guitarist for the Dublin-based original band DC Tempest, performing alongside renowned international acts such as Bon Jovi, Razorlight, Kid Rock, and Irish favourites The Coronas.

Collaborations with International Artists

Lee’s versatility and skill brought him opportunities beyond local bands. He notably joined legendary vocalist Bobby Kimball from Toto during his Irish tour, contributing guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals, further solidifying his credentials as a multi-talented musician.

Becoming Aslan’s New Frontman

In February 2024, Lee Tomkins entered a significant new chapter of his musical career by stepping into the role of frontman for the iconic Dublin band Aslan, following the passing of beloved original vocalist Christy Dignam in June 2023.

Reflecting on this profound connection, Tomkins famously stated:

“Aslan is a religion in Finglas,”

highlighting the band’s enduring impact on their shared hometown and his deep respect for their musical legacy.

New Music and Continued Passion

Embracing his new role within Aslan, Lee Tomkins collaborated closely with the band to release their first single together, Hear Your Call, on March 7, 2025. Recorded at Jealoustown Studios, the single explores powerful themes of resilience and unity, echoing the solidarity and spirit that the band and its community embody.
