Dignam and Goff
Biography
When Aslan sacked him, Christy Dignam picked up the pieces and recorded some solo material that showed he was still a force to be reckoned with. But Christy was used to working in a partnership, and his new musical colleague and collaborator came on the scene a couple of years ago in the shape of rock warrior and ace guitarist Conor Goff.
The duo built up a strong following with their invigorating mix of soulful power-ballads and exciting straight ahead rock. They also showed their musical dexterity by performing as an acoustic duo without the assistance of electric guitars and decibel-destroying drums. Â
They toured Ireland and America extensively and were on the brink of a record deal in America when Christy flew back to Ireland for a once of gig with former bandmates from Aslan. The magic reignited a fire in Dignam and he knew at that moment that Dignam and Goff was over.
Christy returned to America to finish touring commitments with Conor Goff and then they called it quits. The duo went their separate ways when Aslan reformed in 1993.
Unfortunately Conor never remerged on the music scene after the split.
